In the heart of Dublin, The Livingroom is a place of silence. It offers an opportunity to rest, reflect, read or take refuge from the the city. All are welcome to this unique place where a respectful hush is maintained from 9am to 3.30pm. (closed only on alternate Wednesdays)
The Livingroom offers a range of books and references from the major spiritual traditions on the contemplative attitude.
What gentle people experience as Divine, busy people experience as calm, and what weary people can experience as love, is open to anyone seeking the opportunity to listen to themselves, to another, to God…
The Livingroom is sponsored by the Carmelite Order, a contemplative tradition which began as groups of hermits living in the desert. It welcomes anyone who thirsts for connection in daily life.
The Livingroom is located at the corner of Clarindon Street and Coppinger Row, Dublin 2 and is under the supervision of Christine Clear, presenter of the final evening of Ashes to Fire "Journeying in Hope".
